ALMA
MEDITERRANEAN ART
November 2025
The first edition of the ALMA Mediterranean Art international fair has established itself as the most significant milestone in the visual arts scene in southeastern Spain.
Guided by a policy of cultural promotion and the democratization of art, ALMA brought together artists from 24 countries through live demonstrations, bringing 2,873 attendees closer to the creative process in real time.
An international fair that turned artistic creation into an experience and connected global talent with the Mediterranean ecosystem, welcoming over 4,000 international visitors.

Live demonstrations by international watercolor artists
The artists worked live on stage with a full watercolor setup, while their creative process was recorded and projected in real time onto a large screen behind them, allowing the entire audience to clearly follow each step of the creative process, even in a large-capacity venue.
The organization ensured completely free access to the live demonstrations and workshops led by leading international artists. This initiative allowed 2,873 attendees to witness, at no cost, the creative processes of masters such as:
- Prafull Sawant ( India), Andy Evansen (EEUU), Julia Barminova (Rusia), Tomas Fisera (Rep. Checa), July Ustinovich (Polonia) and Eugene Gorpinic (Rep. Checa).
- Alongside acclaimed national artists: Miguel San Pedro (Almeria), Miguel Torrús (Madrid), Adrián Marmolejo (Malaga), Pablo García Ávila (Granada), Juan Saturio (Ciudad Real), Plácido Martínez (Almeria), Emilio Pérez, (Almeria), Angela Barbi (Gerona) and Feli Bernardo (Madrid).

Looking ahead to ALMA 2026, the live demonstration program will be expanded to include up to 12 international sessions, along with an extended educational format that will combine the on-site experience with digital access for international audiences.

WHAT IS ALMA?
ALMA was born in Almería as a contemporary art fair with a clear purpose: to create a vibrant meeting point between artists, the public, and collectors, where art is experienced up close, in real time, and without intermediaries. From its very first edition, ALMA has positioned itself as an open, accessible, and experiential fair, combining exhibitions, live artistic demonstrations, and direct contact with creators, turning the fair into a space where art is not only displayed, but also created, shared, and collected.
With a strong Mediterranean identity and an international outlook, ALMA has brought together artists from multiple countries, building bridges between the local context and global contemporary creation. Today, ALMA is growing as a cultural platform that connects territory, creativity, and international exchange, strengthening Almería’s role as a Mediterranean hub for contemporary art and positioning the fair as a reference point for artistic dialogue, professional development, and cultural cooperation.
